Why have I started a blog?
I’ve never been great at keeping a journal, let alone writing a daily blog. By starting this blog I am hoping to develop my writing ability and stumble across a topic worth blogging about.
Just over a week ago I decided that I needed a drastic change in my life. I was on the train to visit my mum reading Phil Knight’s memoir. At the age of 24 he was back home in Portland from his time in the army when he decided to take a round the world trip visiting a wide range of countries including (importantly) Greece and Japan. Reading this stirred something in me – I’d been unhappy in my job for a few months and felt a little stagnant but suddenly I felt that anything was possible. By the time I got off the train I was adamant that I was going to leave the UK and live in another country. It’s early March now and I plan to be out of here by early July. With that in mind this blog will have a travel theme starting with me documenting my planning to travel/move abroad.
