It’s been a few days since my last post – this is due to not scheduling a time to write the blog each day. The last few entries have been written around 11am-1pm after I have done my exercise, had a rest and then decided to do something with the day.
Wednesday was Lana’s birthday. She made her own birthday cake which was very tasty but didn’t rise properly. We had a barbecue out in the garden but it took Nick and I a long time to prepare the barbecue as it had been put away dirty. We had chicken thighs, pork belly, pork ribs, new potatoes and three types of salad. Lana got a Kindle from mum and dad and she got a Fitbit from Nick. Lana and Nick started the day by joining Mum and me in the garden for the OW exercises.
On Thursday, Lana got up early to do the exercise routine with Mum and me before she started work. That evening Lana and I played tennis for 40 minutes.
I started Friday by speaking to uncle John for 30 minutes on the phone we (Nick, Lana, Mum and I) then completed the OW exercises followed by Lana and I playing tennis for 30 minutes. I made a salmon and pea salad which didn’t turn out as I had hoped due to the lack of dressing I put on it and not defrosting the peas properly. From 4:30-6:30pm I was in the walled garden with Lana, Nick, Dulcie and Tao where I read my book and then worked on my rugby passing technique with Lana. In the evening, Mum mad a fish pie and we watched the Hunt for the Wilderpeople. I also got Lana to do 3 sets of 21s (the bicep exercise) with 4kg weights as she was complaining that she didn’t have any arm muscles.
It’s been a lazy Saturday so far and I haven’t done my exercises yet (it’s 12:14). I’m going to ask Lana if she wants to come out and do them with me and then play some tennis. Even if she doesn’t want to, I’m going to go out and do the exercises as I really don’t want to break my chain of 7 days continuous. I’ve spoken to my dad – he’s downloaded the chess.com app after watching a short TED video on chess that I sent him. I beat him easily on two 5 minute games as he is out of practice and needs far more thinking time. He said he was going to practice against the computer but I advised him to play online against real people to get used to thinking quickly and identifying the patterns.
