Tuesday 4th August

I moved out of my Limehouse flat on Sunday – the cleaner cancelled on us last minute so the four of us (plus Lana and Marta) did the deep clean ourselves. I felt that we did a thorough job and actually enjoyed doing it. After cleaning, the four of us and Marta went for Turkish food at the restaurant formerly known as Effes ( I can’t remember it’s new name – something beginning with R)

After dinner I went back to Marta’s and we watched the Hater – a Polish film about an expelled law student who incites political hatred. I thought the film was good – it showed how people can be manipulated and it is relevant with the populism that has engulfed the word at present.

I drove back home on Monday and spent most of the day in my room as my back was still hurting. That evening I watched Blue Velvet. I had wanted to watch this since I was at school but had never managed to sit down and watch it. I didn’t particularly like it. I felt that most of the acting was bad (not including Dennis Hopper) and I found the story to be unbelievable. Several reviewers have said they didn’t like it on first viewing but did like it when they watched it years later – so maybe I’ll change my mind one day…

My back still hurts today but I have done the Athlean Glute Medius exercises for it which has eased the pain somewhat.

My plan for today is to go through all the stuff I brought back from my flat, read at least a page of my new book (Sammy bought it for me for my birthday in 2018) and stretch some more – so I’m very busy (!)
