I’ve just finished my first day in the new job – it’s amazing how tired I feel. I guess not working for over four months and then suddenly doing 9am-5:30pm is a shock to the system!
The day started with the founder giving us an overview of the business. It was good to hear about some of the innovative products we have to offer (especially around IR35). I was also encouraged by some of the stories he told us about not promoting people who do not display the right values. At my old company they said they would hold back on promoting people who didn’t fit the culture but that didn’t turn out to be true.
This afternoon I had several meet and greets with my new colleagues who were all very friendly and happy to chat. Everyone has been welcoming and I feel I have joined a supportive, adult environment.
Lana, Dulcie and my mum are all staying out tonight so it looks like I’ll have a quiet night in and will be in bed pretty early!
